Climbing Misti

El Misti towers over Arequipa, the city I have been calling home for the last 2 months or so. An active volcano, standing at 5822m above sea level (round 19000ft), it last erupted in 1985 and geologists say another is due, but impossible to say when. In 1998, 6 Inca mummies were found along with other artefacts near the inner crater.
And I got to the top!

    Amazing pictures, really nice story , i just came back from peru and for sure this climbing will be one of my best adventure!

    Brenden - that second shot of Ali is stunning! And I thought those b&w night photos (particularly the family at the table) were top stuff. Do I detect the D700 in use here and there? We continue to enjoy your documentary text and the photos. An amazing insight.
