A few kilometres outside Uyuni in southern Bolivia is an amazing scene of decaying steam trains and their carriages set against striking landscape of 4000m plus Andean peaks and swirling skies. This particular late afternoon brought a large storm and vibrant sunset.
Trains were used for mineral distribution from the many mines in the areas but the industry went bust in the 1940's and engines were left to rot at the Uyuni depot.
