North Coast Peru - a quick New Years trip

Decided to spend the New Year break on Peru's north coast. It is no Thai beach paradise but Peru at its quirky self - adding its own personality to beachside getaways.

Huanchaco near Trujillo, enroute to Zorritos and Mancora. "Motocarro" and traditional reed boats in background that were used as far back as 200BC and still used by fisherman today.

Apologies to Trujillo

New Years was totally uneventful, weird but fun in transit through Piura.

Fishing co-op jetty, Acapulco near Zorritos.

Blue-footed boobies

Magnificent Frigatebirds. Known for the largest wingspan to body-weight ratio of any bird. Wingspan up to 2.5 metres and can fly constantly for up to a week.
